You should definitely try it, especially if all you have is stock cooling available. This type of thing will easily blow a stock cooler away.
 
Visible light between the stock heatsink and core?...WOW...

The cooling held up very well to the increased volts. Were you using a VX too? It's kinda hard to tell from the pics, but I think I see bent fins like the VX.
 
:bump: for recent relevance below and for any new guys who may want to do this.

Back in this post, poparamiro put a TRUE Cu on a GF100 with good results. Now he has put what looks to be a regular TRUE on the new GTX Titan for a pretty good 3D03 score.
