Hello all, new here so be gentle hehe.
I currently play Second Life alot and have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2.
Second Life works better with Nvidia so I was thinking of making a switch.

Would I see a differance if I went with a GTX460 or 470 over the 4870 x2?

I don't want to spend the money if I won't see a differance.
Thankyou

Dont spend the money. Second Life isnt a GPU intensive game that a SINGLE 4870 couldnt handle so a 4870x2 is overkill for it already. Add to that I believe the 460 is slower than a 4870x2 as well...

Oh and welcome!!!! :)

You could probably sell the 4870x2 and get the 460 for basically free.
If it were me, I would go for the 460, because it would run cool and quiet, and offer only sightly less performance in most games. However, like you say, in certain games, the 460 may do better, plus you get dx11, bitstreaming over hdmi, less power consumption, etc, etc.

Welcome to the board! Stick around and do some folding!
