xp setup problems

while installing xp, i got a message saying it did not pass windows logo testing to verify its compatibiltiy with windows xp. i clicked to end installation, but it went ahead and finished. i get to the desktop, go to install a driver for a pci ide controller card, and got the same message, but for the driver. why is it doing this. it never has before.

Did you use nLite to slipstream drivers for an unattended install?

no, installed xp from an xp iso from technet, and the driver was on the floppy that came with the card.

maybe just Control Panel > System >
