I'm planning to get a new 21.5in LED monitor to play games 1080p. Right now I have a 4 years old 17in envision LCD monitor with asus gts 250 and I can play starcraft 2 1280x1024 ultra quality + texture without any issue. But the problem is if I upgraded to a 21.5in, I will have issue playing it smoothly at 1920x1080. So I'm planning to get a new video card. I have about $350 to spend and I'm planning to get a 21.5in viewsonic LED LCD for $169.99 at office depot, so that leave me $180 for a graphic card. My power supply is a corsair cx400 with 30a on 12v rail (single 6 pin connector) so I believe the safest card I can get is the new radeon 6850. Galaxy also make a 768mb gtx 460 with a single 6 pin, but they are not available here in USA. So should I upgrade now or should I save up more money and rebuild my system in the future?

My current spec

Asus P5K-E
E8500 E0 @ 4209mhz 1.312v (443 x 9.5)
8gb crucial ballistix PC6400 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8v 887mhz (failed to run at 887mhz 4-4-4-12 @ 2.2v or 1064mhz 5-5-5-18 @ 2.2v )
80gb WD blue for OS and 1tb WD blue for data
Asus GTS 250 760/1850/1100
Windows XP 64 bit

180 is perfect and just the right amout of cash for the 6850 i think right now. also the GTX470 is now 160 to match the price of the new AMD cards. its noteworthy that for games like Starcraft and most RTS's its the CPU that is more stressed i think, although shouldnt be a problem with your current chip :santa:
