    sata configuration

I have 2-ssd's in r0 on the Intel ICH10R controller and 2-hdd's in r1 on the sata 6G Marvell controller. Should I connect my CD drive to the Jmicron controller or the Intel ICH10R controller?

My opinion is to avoid the jmicron controller whenever possible.
other people have mentioned that even if you use it dont put the CD/DVD on it.

there can be minor advantages to using a seperate contoller for from-to data transfers, but that thing causes many problems, even problems when nothing is on it but its drivers are installed.

    This ^^

Plus you can then disable the other controller and decrease your boot time.
