Hey guys, I am purchasing these to cool my mosfets:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708011&Tpk=MOS-C1

My 870a-G54 has exposed mosfets which are bad for overclocking, so I want to put some insurance on the board.

Can you help me find out how many I need and where I put them.. Im not too sure what the mosfets actually are.. So help me if im wrong.. thanks.

Original pic you can use to circle all the mosfets:

Are these the mosfets that need heatsinks?

It looks like there are two more to the right of the circle.

As far as how many you'll need you'll have to do some measuring. ;) Each of those sinks is about 1/4" square ...

I did the same thing to my motherboard.

I'd buy two packs of the sinks you listed and I'd also buy another pack of their bigger brothers.

See those five black boxes just south of the mosfets you circled? On my Gigabyte board those are enclosed coils. They have a little black cube over them. They look just like that little black box north of the mosfets you circled that says "1R1" on it. I can't tell from the picture you linked if your coils are enclosed like mine are or not, but I installed those bigger heatsinks I linked on those cubes as well. They get damn hot.

I'm not sure if putting all those heatsinks on my board really helped my overclock or stability any, but it gives me some peace of mind knowing that they're back there dissipating some heat.

Yea, Those blocks do get VERY hot when running Prime95, I might throw some on them too.
