I have an Alienware M11x without the optional WWAN/GPS card, as such it has a short space for an internal mini PCI-E card.
I would like to know whether I can use any mini PCI-E card in the slot, or with it being an odd proprietary design of motherboard whether Dell could somehow have worked evil magic on the thing in order to prevent me from using any other type of card than a 3G adaptor.
As illogical as this seems, I recently owned a Dell XPS desktop that had an ICH10R but wouldn't support RAID as well as various others with lesser quirks over the years.
