Hello,

I am overclocking my athlon x4 640 on my new motherboard, but the bios is not as straight forward as my previous Asus m4a77t motherboard.

It doesn't show you what the calculated values are for CPU speed and Ram speeds when you crank up the FSB.

I went to the DRAM configuration and set it to manual and set the Ram speed to DDR3-800. But there was also the option of manual - limit, I don't know what the difference between them is.

So my problem is that I don't know what speed my RAM is at, or what settings to tweak to ensure that RAM speed stays low when I overclock.

Thanks

In your case you would take the FSB 235 x 2 divided by 1 = 470. [800mhz would be 1:2]

If you look at mine I use a 3:8 so I would take FSB X 8 then divide by 3 = 658.7 [1066 would be 3:8]

These are the settings in bios as you would see them.
[400 would be 1:1]
[533 would be 3:4]
[800 would be 1:2]
[1066 would be 3:8]
[1333 would be 3:10]
[1600 would be 1:4]
