Hi!
I'm here to make a query that I'm taking a long time.
My configuration:
GA-MA770T-UD3P (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro....aspx?pid=3534)
OCZ Platinum 2x2GB 1600MHz, model OCZ3P1600LV2G
Western Digital 1.5 TB (green)
Amd x4 955
Power supply 550w power Sentey extreme rock
ATI 5750 Vapor-x 1GB DDR5
and no more interesting things ...
I am having a problem with the BSOD's
Ongoing problems, days when I restarted the machine about 15 times per day (because of the bsod), freezes the screen, or watching a video, freeze the screen and the sound reproduced in the last second before freezing all these problems, almost a year ago, I am someone who is dedicated to assembly, repair pcs, networks, etc. (I'm no expert in OC) and never experienced anything like me, alone in my machine.
One day, after reading the debugs that microsoft tells me every so often, I find that every time there's a new bug, a problem with a driver, a problem with a port irq, etc, never a key error.
I decided to start reviewing the changes and see if turning off cool & quiet (so the cooler the microprocessor is always pinned to its maximum performance) (even though I knew I had no temperature problem) and lowering the frequency of memory.
the problem was solved.
Immediately I thought, if it was memory problem or the c & q, to ​​probe reports to 1600MHz again ([email protected] (1.65v dont have option in the mother). This last "24" says to me as "30").
When I reboot the system by saving changes in the bios.
at 15 seconds after windows 7 start 64b, the system freezes, I realized that the problem came for the memories, try to reboot and see if it was the same, and indeed, it happened again.
My query is this then: Currently I have the memories put on 1333mhz (or according to mark the SPD 1066mhz CPU-z (533MHz)), I am wasting too much memory to 1600MHz buy just because I wanted a little more speed, and have it At this rate, it's like having half does not work practically.
Clarify: I do not change any settings that were not those of the timing of the memory in the bios, do not modify or OC my processor or anything else to put the OCZ brand memory as indicated on their website, just that.
Previously only had 1 module 2GB and had the same problem, after buying the second module, followed by having the same problems, so the problem of memory module is not.
 
Your thoughts and words kind of run into each other and this narrative is hard to follow. Please slow down and use punctuation. Is English your native language? Please don't be offended by this question it would just be helpful to know.

Several things I would have you consider to start with. First of all, most RAM rated at 1600 mhz. is really extra good 1333 ram that will run in a stable fashion at 1600 speeds in some systems. Current AMD CPU integrated memory controllers are rated for 1333 speeds. So you can see why that many people have problems running 1600 memory at 1600 mhz. The other thing to consider is that AMD CPUs tend not to benefit much from memory bandwidth greater than 1333. The real advantage of using 1600 mhz memory with current AMD CPUs may be that you can run them at 1333 with tighter timings. Therefore, I would suggest you lower your ram speed in bios to 666/1333.

It would also be helpful to us who are trying to help you if you would download and install "CPU-z". Run the program and upload pics of these tabs: "CPU", "Memory", and "SPD".

Do you have the Black edition CPU?

I see that you talk about the memory controller of the AMD CPU, but, one question, what about the

memories that are 2000mhz ? or more! what about the people that put this memories? this are not

supported by the AMD driver (like mine), you have to lower the mhz speed from 2000 to 1333 and

only win a slower latency?
Well, i put in the bios the memories in 1333mhz, on timings 6-6-5-18 1t and only yesterday (1

time) i have a frozen screen (not a bluescreen), i restart to try other twice, and, so far now, i

dont have problems, but, i put the voltage settings in 1.68v , i don't know if its really

necesarry to prevent windows freezing, or it's recomended to come back to 1.66v (in the memory

tagline says 7-7-7-24 - 1.65v) , i dont have a option in the bios to set 1.65, this is why i put

in 1.66v (i don't know WHY the everest says me that DIMM is at 1.79, when i put on 1.68 from the BIOS, i don't know if this is right or the memory is burning :| ), what you recommend to do? test other timings, or voltaje, etc, or what?
and yes, i have the black edition 955.

Are you saying your ram voltage is set to 1.68v? Look at the CPU-z "SPD" tab in the JEDEC columns for recommended timings and voltages at different speeds. This info is actually being read from your memory module. If you are running the memory at these lower frequencies as I have advised you should only need 1.5v, maybe 1.525 to be certain. If your are throwing 1.68 at it that is probably why your are getting instability. Cut it back to 1.525. High ram voltage actually carries over to the integrated memory controller and over taxes it, leading to instability.

I come back the voltage to 1.520, and now, i'm running the memories at 6-6-5-18 1t @ 1333mhz @ 1.520v , as little that i use it at this voltage and settings that i sayd, i dont have problems
but the spd recomends at 609mhz use 8-8-8-19 o_O , i could say that now i'm putting a little overclocking , or not? because the memories run at 669.7mhz, not at 609mhz... (and no table for 669mhz).
Another screens when i'm editing bios config, and the last cpu-z show me (now)
(and i dont understand how the everest says me that now the dimm is at 1.63v, when i set in the bios 1.520v)

If it is stable with the tighter timings at 1333 than that is what you want. Tighter timings may give better performance on an AMD CPU than higher frequencies with looser timings. You may be able to get away with these tighter timings at 1333 than what SPD recommends because you bought 1600 memory. That is the real value in getting 1600 memory and what I was trying to explain before. So I think you are headed in a good direction.
 
Now I understand better! If you have a memory that would run at 1333mhz natively, the SPD, which marks the CPU-z would be the timings I'd have to use, but as mine is 1600MHz, and I'm using a 1333, I can "ask" more low timings, no ?
Until now, I had no problem over frozen screen and nothing, and i have a nice performance. one more thing, can i reach up the mhz of the black edition microprocesador without putting more voltage on itself? all the config now and since i bought (the microproccesor), I have the factory settings, but i would like to test how much is the difference overclocking 200, 300mhz more
 
Yes, you seem to be understanding the relationship between memory speeds, timings and the "SPD" info in CPU-z now. The frequency of the memory, i.e. 1333 mhz, 1600 mhz, 1800, etc. has to do with how fast the data travels between the memory and the CPU. The memory timings have to do with how fast the data moves through the memory itself. Within the memory there are gates (as it were) where the data must pause. How long the gates stay closed is a "timing". Bigger timing numbers mean the gates stay closed longer. Smaller timing numbers mean the gates open more quickly. As you might imagine, that can have a significant impact on performance. Ramping up the transfer speed of the data between the memory and the CPU looks good and from a marketing perspective attracts buyers but it means sacrificing quick timings.

Concerning your other question, you may be able to get a little extra speed out of your CPU without increasing the voltage over stock but if you wish to overclock much then you will need to add voltage. That's okay as long as you can keep the core temps at 55c or below. Good overclocking requires a good CPU cooler and good case ventilation. Do you have the stock cooler that came with the CPU or a big after market cooler?

When done to solve the problem I'm having now with the memories, I will focus on up a little speed up the processor, now I'm having a problem, yesterday I had 3 blue screen, and today, I said, I will try to test the memories with "Linx" and "Intelburntest" and were both failed, I can take as I have to put more up the latency of memories? what do you recommend to do? (in which latency and voltage?)

Try just a small change in your timings to 6-6-6-18 to see if that works. I'd also increase the RAM voltage (vDIMM) just a little more to 1.60v since you are overclocking it.

You also might try to set the CPU NB VID to 1.20v and increase the CPU NB Freq to 2200 MHz. Sometimes that can help stabilize overclocked RAM.
