Windows 7 video card benchmarking

I have 3DMark Vantage but it's only DX10 and my card supports DX11. Should I stick with that or use a free benchmarking tool? I don't have the money to buy 3DMark 11.

I've heard bad things about Furmark in the sense that it tends to kill cards.
