My new Seagate has an aluminum (?) cover with some foam under it covering the chips and knowing from my previous IBM (which is broken now) that the chips do get quite hot, I was wondering if it's a good idea to remove that cover & put a small heatsink on the controller? Or one of those fancy HDD-coolers that are attached over the chips?

Both sides of the HDD feel warm to the touch and there's a 80mm Sunon blowing fresh air over it, at 5v. The foam is my main consern with the drive, it's not exactly the best heat-transfer media...
