Hey so I have a corsair HX850 and im going to be doing individual sleeving and i want to do my PCI-E connectors as well. but I see a problem, the end that connects to the video card has this round piece on it now is this really necessary? can I cut the wires and by-pass that? I can post a pic of what im talking about if anyone is confused by my description.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. and if I cant any suggestions on sleeving this would be nice. :D

That looks like a ferrite core. You can probably remove it without any adverse effect. Just make sure that is actually what it is first.

So underneath the shrink tubing or or plastic or whatever it was was just a small plastic ring which is not attached to anything meaning it has absolutely no need to be there it was just an nightmare to get off almost cut myself more than once.
