I have a phenom II 555 be and a biostar 880G plus some G-skill ddr-3 1600 9-9-9-24 8 gig.
Running win 7 premium and have gotten the cpu to 4.0ghz so far by just upping the multiplier, but I read there is something I am missing as far as overall speed and don't have a clue as what to change.
I have this on my bench so posting pics of cpu-z and such are not so easy for me but do have cpu-z and prime 95 running and ready.
I am currently trying prime 95 and 4.2ghz, but I bought this thing to overclock it and want to do so but need some guidance as how to get there.
I have an evga 465 to put in later but won't overclock it until the warranty is up...so onboard graphics while testing.
Side note: I have unlocked all four cores and upped the voltage to 1.4 to get them stable but they would only go to 3.6Ghz with just upping the multiplier. I would rather get the speed out of two than the processing of four until I retire this from gaming to video and picture editing where four would be better.
