Anyone give this game game a chance? I read two reviews, and either you hate it, or you love it. Any one?

It's a great game if you can deal with the fact that it's made by an extremely small indie company. It still isn't finished, but I have alot of fun playing anyway. It's very much a sandbox game and not a theme park type mmo(aka WoW, eq2, Rift, etc.) where everything is on rails.
Do realize though that there are:
*No safe zones. It's full PVP loot everywhere(even though murderers get skill penalties like UO so you can't go around just killing anyone around the clock.)
*Thievery. You have to watch your back.
*No global banking(the town you put your stuff in is where it's at. You can't bank in one town and go get it in the next.) Personally I love this because there's actual risk transporting goods and sometimes you have to have an escort to protect the goods.
*No NPC quests. I think the latest update put in player made quests, but you'll probably want to check the website for concrete info. I know it was a planned feature.
*No in-game map. To me this makes the game even more immersive and forces me to learn the landscape.
*An unfinished magic system. The one in-game is a placeholder, so if you're really looking forward to magic, you might be disappointed.
Now all the things I listed are what I love about the game(minus the un-finished magic system) and they're what sets the game apart from all the other games that are pretty much all the same thing. While I love the game for those very things(there's more, but I'm heading to bed and don't have time to list everything), those very things drive people away from the game. But if those things sound good to you, then I highly recommend the game. Everything has meaning in the game and isn't just another thing to do. There is a lot of inter-player dependency which I absolutely love. Feel free to ask me any questions, but I need to head to bed now.

um 12 euro amonth for playing? no thankie..
when it comes down to $5 USD a month it would be considered.
Dont know of any game that is worth $10 a month to play let alone 25.

It's 11.40 Euro a month, or 10.96 Euro if you link your Facebook account which is $15.79 a month in US currency. Have you played MMO's before? They're all(well, at least most) $15 a month.

What i read about the game is interesting. Its really an MMO that tries to be very realistic, which is what got my attention. $25 a month is really steep though. Kudos on the idea however, and I hope the developers do well.

Ahh ok, $15 a month. Hmm, so whats with the Magic being broken right now? Seems to me, that playing as a mage would be the way to go, if it works correctly.
What else can you tell me about the game? I have not seen a game like this in the MMO realm, and I am really not interested in playing WoW or a WoW clone.

I think the best thing you could do is go to Mortal's website and try the 14 day trial. Just make sure you read alot about the game, because alot of things in-game aren't explained and you have to figure them out for yourself.
My best advice when you get in-game is to start chopping wood or mine metal to boost your strength and constitution. You don't have to do it this way, but you get stats boosted + you can sell wood to NPC vendors for some extra money. There is a certain city that is best for newbies, but I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head. It's in their forums somewhere if you poke around.
