Today Makes Me Wish I Had a Generator

Bad storms today and Irene this weekend...

Power has been out atleast an hour so far, normally its back up within minutes.
My 1000VA UPS lasted all of about 8 min before shutting down the rig. I set it to shutdown with 3min power remaining.

So I might just buy me a generator tonight.
Gas might actually be cheaper than the electricity.

Sorry for the random rant/tangent...

If you can get one... Those thing sell fast when people need them, and slow the rest of the year.

Think the power outage took out my laptop though.
Wont boot. All lights come one but no display/disc activity.

could make a cool project with an old lawnmower, spare alternator, couple car batteries, and a huge 12vdc to ac power inverter.
