(2x4 pin in, 6 pins out) PCI-E adapter

'I have a 700 watt psu with only 2 x pci-e cables but i need 4 to run my 2x9800GTX+'s in SLI.I have two extra adapter's (2x4pin in , 6 pin out pci-e )
but im not sure how to run them. Do i need to connect both molexs to the accesories cables or just one molex for each adapter

Just one molex for each adapter. There should be one male and one female adapter on the molex side. Now whatever is coming off of your PSU just use the opposite. For example my power supply has female so I would use the male on my connector to plug it in.

mine are both female

Huh, I don't know then. Maybe try to close the ends on one of the females on your connector Very strange if you ask me

Wow, I didn't know that, I've always used one because one has been male and one female. I just figured because of that to go with whichever fits. Learn something new everyday

Well, for the adapter posted at least!
If the adapter has one female and one male, that's fine.
The double male ones like the picture above require two cables from the PSU.


(Sidenote: The pins themselves designate male/female, the PSU has the female connectors, the adapter has the male ones)

Wow thats gonna be messy .Im gonna need curtians on the window..lol oh and its an old OCZ Gamer series PSU

Might be worthwhile to just buy a newer more efficient PSU that has the proper cables.
