how do i know if it is working on my setup?
my router is supposed to have it built in (3com 3c510)

well i suppose you could try the brute force method... could try to setup a server, or try transftering some files and see if its blocked.

you could go to www.grc.com and use the shields up firewall testing tool. It will do some basic testing of your firewall....

Thanks for that link!
I ran the shields up test and scanned ports. If it is accurate then it tells me all ports are in stealth mode and firewall is secure!
At least i know now.
