i did it. Haven't built a system in a while and i wanted to make an htpc gaming build cuz i like playing games and i got no desk :( lol.

Case Silverstone Lc13e
Motherboard Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
CPU AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE
CPU Cooler Xigmatek Loki sd963
GPU Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1Gb
Ram 8 Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (2x4)
HD 2x WD Caviar Black Raid 0
PSU Seasonic M12II 620W

Currently im running with all 4 cores enabled. Everything else is stock. Im using my 46" 1080p TV as a monitor and my android phone as the keyboard/mouse/media center remote. The case stays pretty cool so i think im gonna get another 6870 when the price drops a bit. wooooo :attn::ty:

With that 6870, which is about on par with my 5870, you dont need another 6870 for a hdtv at max 1900x1000 resolution (i think or close). what are you doing for mouse and keyboard and how is it setup for play when at a couch? Or are you just buying games that support gamepads?

oh well for general surfing, netflix and stuff unified remote app works pretty good. but i can't play games using my phone. i use my usb xbox controller for that. i also have a wireless keyboard/mouse that i could use but it's just sittin in my closet.

i've got a dualboot setup going with windows 7 and backtrack5 on it. Im testing out Pyrit. trying to teach myself some gpu assisted wpa cracking. That's what the other 6870 would be for. :)

Actually, the 6870 is significantly slower than the 5870.

(slower)6850/6870/5870/6950/6970(faster).

They did a bit of a Jedi Mind trick on the scheme there. The actual 5870 replacement is the 6970.

Turok that case is Uberganster.
