Hello,

I would like to upgrade my current build. I use it for some gaming, and would like to see an increase in gaming performance. I'm not certain whether to upgrade ram, video card, or just save up for a new mobo/cpu.

Abit IX38 QuadGT Mobo
E8400 Core 2 Duo 3Ghz overclocked to 4Ghz
4 GB OCZ Reaper PC2-8500 1066Mhz Memory (2x2GB)
ATI Radeon 4870 512Mb Video Card

I'm wondering whether to get 4GB of memory to make it 8 total, or whether to get another Radeon 4870 512Mb to run in crossfire, or whether the CPU is my real bottleneck. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

What games will you be playing?

A more modern gpu will probably give you the most bang for your buck. But the C2D is really starting to show its age.

Well a newer generation gpu would help. Like a HD6950 or GTX570.

BF3 is pretty cpu intensive though. You may want to look into a 1155 build though.
