So I picked up an FX8120, it is not a "golden chip" but it is pretty good. On default voltage (1.30V) it will do 4.0Ghz stable, also the NB at default (2.2Ghz) can be undervolted to 1.15V from 1.20V.

System:
FX 8120 Core @ 4.0Ghz 1.30V NB @ 2.2Ghz 1.15V or
FX 8120 Core @ 3.2Ghz 1.25V NB @ 2.2Ghz 1.15V (not checked to see how low it can undervolt @ 3.2Ghz yet)
DDR3 1600 9-9-9-27-36-1T
GTX 460 1GB
Seasonic X560

Here's some projects, times, ppd, and total system power usage (Win7 x64->VMWare->Ubuntu 10.10 x64).

No, only CPU running -smp8. If I enable GPU it's an additional ~16,000ppd with system load (best guess, haven't actually checked) ~350->400W. My stats link for CPU only (01/09/12 tested for 3.2Ghz).

Overclock to 4.0Ghz and running Vmware->Linux (Ubuntu), that's about it really. What does your AMD folder have for a processor (and speed) and is it running Linux?

Some projects like 7611, 7903, and 7905 yield very low ppd compared to others. Also if it's used for other tasks that will cut into ppd as well, the above values were takin whilst I was working, but I do use this machine for other things.

Lots of 800x projects today, makes for good ppd, although I'm backing up some dvd's so points going to drop off.

One interesting tidbit is that despite almost all my machines running VMware/ubuntu 10.10, I haven't done a single one of those WUs, so I have nothing to compare to.

I gave a quick look around, I may have found some 2600K -smp results that the FX8120 couldn't touch of course (40,000+ ppd), no idea the wattage, speed or project though. Most of the contenders were running -bigadv so no comparison. Will soon see once the new -bigadv rules go into effect.

Just installed, I have a couple more movies to backup, back to trying to solve cancer tomorrow ;). I have my doubts about any increase in fah, from what I read it's to keep the scheduler from fully loading 1 compute unit before loading another.
