Hi guys,

Today i decided to make the switch from HDD to SSD.

I bought a Crucial m4 (CT128M4SSD2) and I know you need to disable hibernation, defragmentation and Virtual Memory (have a ATI 6970) to safe disk space and increase disc life.

Also have set SATA mode to AHCI in bios.

(edit) also got the new m4 firmware rdy to install.

Are there other things i need to change or check that i forgot ??

much appriciated, Mike

I believe most of those things are actually taken care of now after you run the Windows Experience Index it finds the SSD and should disable those features.

Right from the start when you install win7 64 bit or after some updates?

He means the Windows Experience Index, it tells you the score of your hardware.

Bingo, I believe when it does the calculations to rate your hardware it will also take care of the SSD side of things.
