Powering 40mm fan with lithium ion battery

First, whats the output in: Voltage/Wattage/Amps on an Iphone battery? Your going to need 8-12 volts for the fan. You'll probably need .5 amps to power the fan, and it might quickly, very quicky empty the battery and heat to the point of overheating and dying a very quick death.

So, using the part number of the fan listed by the seller, go to the Scythe web page and get the specifics on that fan. And get the info on the iphone battery too from somewhere.

A better bet is buy a 12 VDC RC car battery for $20 and redo the connection to the fan. Those Nicads have great current ratings and should keep that fan running for at least 10 if not 30 minutes. Of course, you'll have to buy a cheapo charger for the RC battery. Another $20 or so.
 
Youd probably want to look at some lithium polymer batteries like those used in model aircraft/cars for something like this. Really you should be able to find something along the lines of what you want prebuilt unless you absolutely want to do it yourself.
