    GTX 560 SLI 2GB DDR5 vs GTX 560 TI SLI 1GB DDR5

    Hello,

Trying to decide what would work best in an SLI setup. The Geforce 560TI seems to be better but only has 1GB DDR5 RAM, the other option is a Geforce 560 with 2GB DDR5 RAM. I currently have 2 GTX 550TI, and I am looking to upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks

It would depend on what resolution you are running. If I were to make that decision I would make sure to get the 560ti with 2GB of VRAM if you are gaming with anything 1080p (1920x1080) or higher. At that price range there is also the AMD 7850

thanks for the response. So I am running 5760x1080 on 3 Viewsonic 24 inch SLI (each monitor is at 1920x1080). What would be best for around $250 per card, as I would like to keep SLI.

You will definitely want at least 2GB of VRAM for that high of a resolution. If you had been using 1GB cards (remember, the amount of RAM isn't additive between multiple cards) it would have choked severely on that resolution.

At the lowest I would go with the 2GB 560ti, if you want to spend a bit more there is a 2.5GB GTX570 for just under $300.

For the price I think a 7870 beats the 560ti pretty handily.

I am guessing that the current video cards are the reason some of my games/benchmarks are low.

If I go with the ATI instead of the Nvidia will games suppor the 5760x1080 setup? For example, I had an Eyefinity (not crossfire) setup prior to the SLI but only some games played on the 3 screens.

    Here are my specs:

    AMD FX-8150 - OC to 4.3GHZ
    Asus ROG Crosshair V
8GB Kingston Hyper X Memory 1333MHZ (will upgrade soon)
    2x Geforce GTX 550 TI
    Corsair TX850 Power Supply
    Cooler Master Haf X Case
    Toshiba 1TB HD
