Hey guys,

I recently tried out my hand with Crossfire 6950, did not work out for me, due tot he fact that my second HD6950 could not be unlocked, and it had to be placed on top of my current 6950, i did not like this setup at all, and it didnt work well during gaming.

So i put my second (locked) HD 6950 up for sale again.

When it is sold, i am considering getting an XFX HD6970 2gb and then crossfire that with my current 6950 (unlocked and overlocked to match the 6970)

But looking at prices, i actually considered selling my unlocked HD6950 with the arctic cooling on it and just buy 1x7970 3GB

I do eyefinity Gaming.

single 7970 is the way to go.
Overclock it and you be hard pressed to go crossfire.
same performance as 2x6950 or so but smoother gameplay and min fps.
I run a single 7970 at 1200mhz gaming at 5040x1050 and that wroks fine for me. yes I can run GW2 maxed out and play BF3 with settings down for fps around 90fps without an issue (all low tho). (I like fps in BF3)

Just to bring this back up, i sold my sapphire hd6950 today, and still need to sell my unlocked 6950.
But rhe 7970 is a serious thought, but if i wanted to go crossfire with in future, what psu would i need?
