So I stuck all the bits in a Node 802. Neat little case.

I had to fab up a bracket for the H100i I had lying around. No idea where the AMD bracket went.

Works great and more importantly....... the wife is very happy with her KODI/media box.

It sits in the basement with HDMI, and a USB cable running to the TV. The USB is to get the wireless receiver for the keyboard close enough that there is no lag.

Buy funsouls' stuff and you too can have one of these. :D

Almost identical to my setup in terms of connections, gaming pc and HTPC hooked up via 15' HDMIs to living room 52" plasma. Wireless keyboard and mouse for the gaming PC. Firefly rf remote and a wireless mini keyboard and mousepad for the HTPC. A Chromecast and an Amazon Firestick complete the connectivity my living room TV enjoys.

A Z270 mobo for review, I should probably wait till after ryzen to buy a kaby lake for cheaper

Playing Make-believe EE

So the time came where I really wanted to know more, NO wait...
NEEDED to know more to better understand this fickle thing we call electricity!

My breadboard R&D requires I know the frequency of certain outputs.
SO I started shopping Oscilliscopes...

I wanted a handheld. For a nice selection and price options see

WOW-O-WOWZA!!!

Why so darn expensive, compared to a multi-meter, say...

So what does The SwartHack do.....
Get a pretty sweet DIY kit. FOR $30 merican!! You can order pre-soldered for a couple bucks extra!!!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M75A48X

along with the PCB bracket

Holy crap.... do you have a working drive for those?
No, we found em in the attic above a switch room when we were cleaning up the cabling... The floppies reminded me of em when I was skimming the thread and had to share. We also found an ancient autoclave...

Edit: that guy who had that desk was super OCD about his workspace.... My boss and I spent like half an hour getting it perfect for when he walked in.... It was EPIC!

Wow, 5 and 1/4th floppies, never used them, not old enough.

Meanwhile, I found a screenshot I took of my first PC (not the first one I ever used, but the first one that was mine)

Yes, I liked the Windows Vista Aero but I hated Vista itself so I just found an XP theme for it lol. This was toward the end of the computer's life. Not sure if it had a floppy drive or not, maybe. It was one of those prebuilt Dells (cost $800 circa... 2004? idk the exact year) with the sides like a gallon milk carton.

After this, I got my first prebuilt 'gaming' computer

comp.png

Don't remember the specs on this, it was a socket 775 tho.

Then came my hideous flame case 2nd prebuilt gaming (both this and previous were from ibuypower.com)

(dont remember the specs on this either, I think it was still 775)

after that came my EVGA SR-2 nonsense ridiculous build (graduation money) and now finally I'm on my 6700k Hero build.

HAHAHA kids these days.

This is what my first computer looked like. Yes it used a cassette tape and took about a half an hour to a full hour to load a 64 KB game. Ah, those were the good old days. Zork and Oregon trail never looked so good.

P.S. This is an image from the interwebs. I don't have any pics of my own.

Just got a Samsung 850 evo 500 gig ssd to compliment my 120 gig samsung 840 evo. Was getting sick of swapping games around. Valentines day "sale": Total cost $216 after tax, came with Watchdogs 2. I do wish I looked at amazon tho, as best buy would have price matched that(159.99 vs 199.99) Too late though.

No pics cause its already in my system. Impatience man... ROFL

In the process of setting up a sort of fileserver on my 1tb wd caviar black spinner, to access drivers, pics, etc. A sort of "Internal external" drive I guess.

My 3tb drive will be my backup drive. Somewhat exciting to have ssd speed on everything i use. :)
