@S_B, at least this one lived. Way to go !

It lived indeed..... cause I didn't de-lid it. Those where simply pics of me trying to air cool that darn thing lol. But make no mistakes, this one will be de-lidded. Benched the crap out of the 8300.... yea, while it's still working, I'll use it in place of the 9590 while I do the job see....

But yea, glad to see you had a good time JohanTheMan! Very cool. I like the T-shirt. The rest of the goodies.... well everyone has that already ;)

Thanks S_B, I did have a lot of fun. It was a bit of a work out but totally worth the $80 to attend. I'll likely go again next year.

Anyone here with experience in amd 3D video?

After much definition of insanity and trial and error, all I can see is my glasses are receiving some kind of signal along with better color from the television along with better detail.
No images jumping out of the screen to say.

I will save you the details of such trial and error.

nope

Wikipedia proved most helpful of all from learning perspective.
Also bing search viewing pics of dvi wiring diagram and specs.

quantum 3d ir emitter
excelvan 3d active shutter glasses
$50

emitter did not come with external power supply although available port.
^ used the adapter for powering on 2nd psu. spliced a peripheral 4 pin into my rechargeable electric razor power cord.

cut mini usb 4 pin to vesa stereo 3 pin and use the sync wire only into the graphics card analog v-sync dvi pin.

use dvi to hdmi video cable.
custom edid tool force tv into 120hz and also patch works dvi to hdmi to get sound to the television.

much fooling around with tridef 3d middleware which seems complicated to say the least.
I did sit back and view Steam->counter strike: global offensive through tridef interface
v-sync up holds frame rate mostly between 100-120 frames. graphic settings apply.

haven't attempted the asus 24" 144hz yet.

Id be most certain not operating optimal.

LoL

You're out of my realm there eagle. I have a heard enough time with 2D enemies . I surely don't need 3d of them. ha ha

After much trial and error along with fasting technique I have concluded to possibly try a model of Samsung active glasses.
IZ3d middleware proved easier for my configuration.
Setting CCC to 95% max settings, V-sync, outputs around 43 fps with a single sapphire 7870 OC. Counter Strike: GS
AMD 1100T and vengeance memory 8GB @ 1600 mhz.

Personally I enjoyed experimenting with cheap 3D solution.

Northern Maine has accumulated about 3-4 inches snow over night.
A very fine granular snow that packed densely together.
Shoveling would remind you of times shoveling around 8 inches of accumulation because over-night snow so densely packed.

Great News is spring is soon to arrive
Also gigabyte 7870 OC should be arriving from RMA by the middle of the week....

OK so WIN10 pro Technical preview.

Here's a picture of how it looks or what ever, doing some 4.9ghz clocks with ease. Nice and stable, good temps. Very good. Think I like W10.

Windows Tech Preview, Windows 10?
Im afraid after the last 5 days, Cortana may learn my Trial and Error method of passing time and make my Hobby obsolete.

LoL..
Joking of course.

Having much fun with it.

Well my train came in! A while back if you remember I bought an 8320 that would run at very low voltage. An aqquaintance of mine had this 9370 that took his sisters board out but he was sure it worked so I traded him for the 8320 and everyone was happy. Well that was till the CPU didn't post that is. So for an extra $20 I have a shiny new 9370 here courtesy of AMD. I can't wait to put the boots to this poor sucker. It'll be interesting to see how this one "behaves" compared to my old 9370 that's now powering my HTPC. Production date of 1429 so it's definately one of the "new" breed. I just haven't had any play time lately and it's starting to get tome. :screwy:

 I just borked my 24/7 drive O/S and my benching drive O/S trying to swap drives. Sometimes my stupidity even amazes ME.

Well here's hoping it's a goodun

Borked the 24/7 Os :( hate when that happens. I've been a specialist at borking Oses of late luckily not the 24/7 setup. I also had a new one when benching heaven last week. Borked the BIOS and the Driver on the 780

Whew. Dodged a bullet there. Dropped in the old WIN7 disk and wouldn't you know it. She came back to life. Seems that recovery thing works one time in a million.

Looks like I'll be putzen with my own AMD chip soon :)
Ready to order from the egg, but I figured I'd see if anyone on OCF want to part with a saberkitty or gtx 960 first.

Can't hurt to try eh?
Pretty stoked about this build, it's gonna be awesome! :D

I think it'll be worthwhile. You learn a lot when you diversify.
