Woomack, if you don't mind a quick question...

I have this kit G.Skill RipJawsX 2x4gb F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

Working on getting it running @1866... Am trying the timings for the CL9 kit in your first post.. Have a question about the TRFC. My Bios has 2 different trfc's (I was just there and can't remember what they were) But the second one was already defaulted to 160ms (setting 3), and the first just had a - I don't know if its because I have XMP profile active or not. P95 is running right now.. Only 15mins in, The 1866 in my sig was at non-XMP profile timings (Defaults to 11-11-11-27)

This is what it looks like (Not my screenie, from some Russian review)

I haven't seen 2 tRFC on any board that I was testing but on AMD it's usually at 160 for 4GB modules. Some chips may need to set it to 300 when you overclock them higher.
You can try from 11-11-11-27 2N 1.65V and when you make it stable then try tighter timings like 10-11-11, 10-11-10, 10-10-10, 9-11-11, 9-11-10, 9-10-10, 9-10-9, 9-9-9, 8-9-9 ... I doubt it will run tighter but you can try.
At the end when all will be stable then try command rate 1N. On AMD it usually works at 2N and sometimes it's hard to make it stable at 1N.

These kits were on various chips and it's hard to compare them. Most important is high tRFC and later you play with main timings. Best is to set timings to manual instead of XMP.

Fast way to check memory is to run HyperPi 32M. It's not as long as Prime95 and faster crashes if there are any memory or IMC errors.

you can actually try if it make 2133 CL9-11-10 or something near

I'll give it a shot.

Side note... Dog just fell off the couch and landed on his head. Jumped the bejeezus out of me.

2133 was a no go. Wouldn't boot to windows. tried 9-11-10, 10-11-10, 11-11-11. More voltage did nothing to help.

This is what I'm running with 1866. I'll let P95 run for a few hours later, maybe overnight. If I set tRas manually to 28 with everything else the same it won't boot, but if i leave it on auto all is well

That tRAS is weird. Maybe BIOS issue or something. It should work at 27/28 up to 2133 or higher. Can try tWR to 16 when you set higher clock. All other timings can be probably at auto.

Long break in memory tests as most manufacturers are preparing for DDR4 but I've received 2x4GB 1600 C9 1.35V HyperX Impact SODIMM memory kit which will be tested soon.

I see that www.funkykit.com has changed website layout and links are not working so in case if you wish to check reviews, please browse FunkyKit and I will fix links when I find some more time.

All links were fixed.

I've also added short review of Kingston HyperX Impact 2x4GB DDR3-1600 9-9-9-27 1.35V. It's SO-DIMM memory available up to DDR3-2666 but since I had only a laptop based on Ivy Bridge CPU then I could test only DDR3-1600. It doesn't change fact that memory is pretty good and it's worth take a look at it.

Most manufacturers are preparing for DDR4 but if you wish to see any other memory review then please let me know and maybe I will be able to get a review sample.

I've noticed that screenshots from older forum threads disappeared ( 2010 ) and since I don't have them anymore then you have to trust the description regarding memory settings.

Kingston just released new memory series - Savage, which will replace existing Genesis memory.
HyperX Savage will be available in 1600-1866 CL9 and 2133-2400 CL11 modules. For now I don't have detailed specs but I assume it will be something near Fury series.
You can expect some tests of the 2400 C11 kit from Savage series soon. I'm not sure exactly when but I think that no longer than in 1-2 weeks.
