One thing I am loving about this Z87-OC is the quad slot gap between x16 lanes
My 7970 temps dropped by like 20c at least

I have this board laying on the ground, too bad i dont have time to play with it until a few days ! :(

PUSH IT !

From my testing last night.
4.5 looks like the wall on this chip. (kind of a dog)

I was able to do 4.4 @ around 1.28, but 4.5 I was having to go up to 1.4.
1.4 is fine under prime 95, but throttles to hell under IBT

Deciding if I'm going to take this 4670k back and get a 4770k.

Moving to the 4770k will only increase your temps. If your cooler can't handle the heat, you might end up with lower clocks.

I'm more interested in the chance of getting a better chip.
Another ticket to the silicon lottery

Are all Haswell chips generally more voltage hungry? 1.4v would get my 3770k to 4.9ghz, right now for 4.5 mine is using a modest 1.208v under full load...

I don't think they are more power hungry, but this chip seems to be.
After following Hokiealumnus' guide on the front page, this chip only made it to 4.2 @ 1.25v, seems to be at the bottom end of the spectrum.
It was also 4.2 stable @ 1.2v... So I am still not ruling out user error at this point.

My last Intel chip was an e8400... still trying to figure out what the heck i'm doing

Haswell heats up a good bit, so the jump from 4.5 to 4.6 (or any jump, really) could take a lot of voltage to keep stable.

Almost exactly the same score but my test rig's done up on a much lower budget though.
