Hello all :)

I've just finished building my new pc;

Corsair 900d
Rog x79 extreme
I7 3820
Teamgroup 2133mhz (16gb)
Msi 7970 oc
Custom watercooled
(Laing 18w ddc/xspc bay res. 840mm of black ice sr1s. 7 scythe 1850rpm typhoons)

Now I'm at the point where I'm having a bit of fun and trying to find the limit :D

So far I've got 4.9ghz @ 1.42v and temps at 65c load (prime 95 1 hour and intel burn 100 passes) without a problem.

Ambient is around 26 degrees and idle is 36 degrees.

Now I have searched and have seen so much contravening info on what the max temp and Vcore should be.

Am I safe to push some more?

Next step would be back off slightly on cpu and then push ram then VGA :)

All help would be appreciated :)

I've seen plenty sb-e chips die at 1.45 to 1.5 volts. I wouldn't go over 1.4v myself. Sb-e is not nearly as durable as SB.

Arrgh maybe ill bring it back down then :) thank you for the information :)

Guess it doesn't really need to be OC'd yet :D
