Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Kit: Why is it so hard to find?

I've finally saved enough to start doing some upgrades here and there over the coming months, and am running into trouble just trying to get ahold of a 3D Vision 2 Kit. Every reputable (and reasonably priced) place seems to be out of stock and never gets any stock in, and I've been looking for weeks on a daily basis (through Google shopping). I know the tech is fairly "old", but afaik, Nvidia isn't coming out with anything new on the 3D scene, so why the apparent supply issue? Someone in the know, know why there is such a short supply?
