Nice job, hokie. I know I'm slacking, but I'm trying to get stuff done before I head to Atlanta on vacation next week. Have some shoots planned down there...

We have a high surf warning (20'-30') and today is the last day of Billabong Pipe Masters (live stream) so I figured I'd go take a look:

Nice shots!

I wish I didn't have frozen rain fallen right now.
Damn snow. :(

Your tree and kids?

Very nicely shot & decorated tree too!
The one pointing is mine, others are his cousins....and thanks!

A couple of shots from Oakland Cemetery.
Like them both, especially the second one.

That's one heck of a setup...and beautiful pictures to boot. Welcome to the thread. I expect to see more from you mister! :bday:

I agree with Silver_Pharaoh, very nice pic hokie. Great warm feeling to it!

Thanks man. My girlfriend loves shooting cemeteries, and personally I always thought it was a little strange. I still do, but she talked me into it, and it was interesting, in a weird sort of way. I'm sure I'll have more from there when I have a chance to go through my pics when I get home.

Got a new lens for early Christmas. Trying it out at Sope Creek ruins with my better half, a.k.a. The Instigator, on a relatively crappy day.

Canon 60D with 40mm (f/2.8), ISO 100, f/2.8, 1/25 sec, flash off

Those large aperture primes are great from all I've read. Much more affordable than larger aperture zooms. That looks like a fun place to get some photos. :)

I absolutely love my Canon 50mm f/1.4, and use it more than any of my other lenses. I would consider it a must have for anyone. Darn good lens for the price. As a note, it (and presumably the f/1.8 version) is rumored to being replaced by a likely much more expensive f/1.8 with IS in the near future (http://petapixel.com/2013/10/09/rumor-canon-may-replace-50mm-f1-4-high-end-50mm-f1-8/).
