Same two elevators as my last shot, only much further away. I love golden hour. I think I'll be submitting this one to a photo contest or two.

Nice shot OW.

I happened across this barn last week in the middle of nowhere, Northern WI. I see thousands of barns, but there was just something about the different textures of this one.

I took a few decent shots while downtown yesterday. I'm glad to see one of Detroit's oldest historical buildings being restored. This is in what was one of the roughest neighborhoods, but it seems there is new life here. New businesses are sprouting and people are walking around again. Good stuff. Anyhow, here is Detroit's original train station, Grand Trunk.

Who likes aurora, meteors, and abandoned houses? Shot with the 18-55 kit lens as wide open as it can go - needed the wider angle, or I'd have used the 28mm AI. Consequently, I needed ISO 3200 to make this shot work. Which isn't all that great with the D5100. I need a full frame camera. Or better lenses. Or both.

Nature decided to finally quit pulling the football away last night. That close one was a real retina blaster in person. Shot it from outside an old shed I took cover in right afterwards. The spots in the shot are raindrops.

Been a while since I've had anything to post worth noting. Had a chance to go to the museum with the kiddo the other day and that's always a good place to get some shots; so there are some to post over the coming days! Here's a log with some great character that caught my eye.

Even if you got your normal rainfalls, the hot temperatures dry it out into tinder for lightning or ill advised human activities to light the fuse.
