Yeah, they do. That's most of the reason I'm selling them. I wasn't expecting them to be 250w each. No idea how they are rated at 185w each, when bone stock clocks they took 230w.
They are pretty much 6970's in performance and power consumption, if I wanted that I could have just bought 6970's lol.

Not much, only about 10-15w.

Moving some things around today.
Put the new 290 into my dedicated mining rig until I get my last card and have time to rework the water cooling.
still trying to nail down settings, but got this so far.

That's really good KH per watt there.

Swapping out my P55/I7 860 for a 4670k and Z87 board soon. Also picked up an HX650 PSU for my main PC, so I'm going to swap out the Enermax bronze PSU for the gold. Bronze PSU is going in the wife's PC, which doesn't even have an 80+ PSU so that should be a nice improvement.

Also picked up an Antec HCP 850w for the other dedicated rig which runs the 7950 and two 7850's....so another 80+ gold to replace a bronze and this time closer to the efficiency range since that current Antec 650w is being pulled around 500w DC. After 3 PSU swaps, and the 4670k VS the I7 860 I think I'll be saving around 200w.

I don't know what I changed to draw that extra 100 watts. Maybe I misread it yesterday.
I hope I got it stable. I worked on it off and on all day yesterday and the only thing that I really changed much was tc.

I missed your sale on that board. Would have been a good benching board.

Test setup:

6850 and 550ti in my rig (Yep, I got them to work together finally :D )

Silver_Pharaoh|6850+550ti|364Kh|403 Watts|0.9 Kh/w

 That 550ti is a power hog!

Got my Antec HCP-850 80+ gold PSU in my one rig running with 3 7850's currently.

87dtna|7850x3|1050kh|460w|2.28kh/w|Celeron G530|MSI Z68|Antec HCP-850w

Previously was using an Antec Truepower new 650w bronze PSU and it was at 495w usage. So 35w savings.

I also replaced the PSU in my wife's PC, which wasn't even 80+, with my old Enermax is 80+ bronze PSU. Previously this was the result-
87dtna|7850x1|365kH|235w|1.55kh/w|Athlon II 250|880g|X-power 650w

Now it only pulls 190w. So 45w saved on that one too. it'll all add up and eventually be worth these PSU swaps.

xsuperbgx|2x 290x|1850kh|725w|2.55kh/w

I7 4930k, asrock extreme 6, 2x xfx 290x (watercooled), bequiet dark power pro -1200w(gold) psu, +7 fans and 1 pump.

875 watts with primeminer running 12 threads

Added a chart to the first page with results. Let me know if there are any errors.

Everyone post your numbers!

87dtna|7970+7950+R9 270|1650kh|700w|2.36kh/w

Underclocked the 7970 to 855 core and undervolted so it only uses 160w, but only puts out 565 kh/s. All this is on a single 850w 80+ gold PSU.

If anyone has numbers before and after bios flash and undervolt, it would be interesting to see. I haven't put up my latest numbers because of running maxcoin.

You mean bios flash for undervolting? Yeah my R9 270 really sucked the juice before it. Stock voltage was 1.225v and it consumed 200w at 1000/1400 clocks. Now it's on 1.125v and uses ~165w.

Earthdog|2x 290 + 270 |2200Kh|950w|2.31kh/w

Rig 1 - 2 290's (1007/1250) ~1800 KH /s = 760W (I = 19, TC = 24550)
Rig 2 - 1 270 (1000/1400) ~400 KH /s = 190W (I = 17 TC 15xxx)

Total ~ 2200 KH /s @ 950W = 2.315

*Note, I run 1 290 24/7. The other I just tested for now and tossed those results up... :)

Silver_Pharaoh|270x+6850|755Kh|440w|1.71Kh/w
The 440 watts was before undervolting my 270x via BIOS flash,
I now use 400 watts to run the 270x and the 6850, for the same 755Kh rate.

Earthdog|2x 290 + 270 |2200Kh|950w|2.31kh/w

:shock: :drool::drool: Very nice! :thup:
See if you can bump the 270 up to 1120 core 1500 mem if you can, that got me 474 Kh on my 270x.

Throwing this up there for baseline info. This is an i3-2100 at idle, gpu removed, all fans except cpu fan removed, old pos thermaltake toughpower 750w psu. Turns out I had the wrong psu listed in sig rig #2, but everything else is listed there is correct. Display on and running from the i3 iGPU.

This will be getting three four 750tis added to it when they come in later this week, so we can see what they add to it including the added cpu load to run gpus.

The only thing I may do is change out this psu for an HX750 in the interest of better efficiency and not being a pos. I'll repost this if that happens.

*edit* Turns out the Tt 750 is 80+ Bronze. Didn't think it even had an 80+ rating due to being 6-7 yrs old

What board are you running? Even my G530 and Z68-GD65 runs at 40-42w idle with no GPU with an 80+ gold PSU.
