And remember, buy your motherboards from Amazon or other reputable and quality vendor that WILL replace your board if you end up with the unfortunate luck of getting one with bent pins... AKA, do NOT shop at NewEgg.

Newegg won't replace boards with bent pins? WTH? Are you serious?

ASUS, these days, gives neither value, nor good service

Eeehhhhh , my experience is a little different , but one can't be faulted for proceeding with caution on the subject for sure. I have a question , though. The receipt shown was a typical Ebay receipt , but could the seller have actually been an authorized seller and just used the standard Ebay receipt out of habit/convenience ? Was it an Ebay Store or an individual ? I may be totally off base here , but I haven't seen any reference by the OP as to who the seller was. Not asking for names , just more info.

This has been common knowledge for years, and I've even stated it many times on these forums. It isn't just 1 or 2 cases of it, it's enough cases that NewEgg blames it on "Customer Induced Damage", that I simply cannot recommend them.

Amazon on the other hand.... replacement sent out normally next day shipping in my experience.

I've seen this happen only once to myself on one of my last motherboard purchases from NewEgg (thank god... Amazon tends to have better prices and shipping options anyway), but numerous times to friends. NewEgg even tried to double charge one of my friends for a replacement board they had already sent out before telling him that it will not be covered by NewEgg's return policy on motherboards.

They have lost the majority of my business long ago and I very rarely and seldom order anything from them. It's been about 5years since I washed my hands of NewEgg and things have been dandy. I only use NewEgg as a research tool now, nothing more.

Some more insight on some quick posts that popped up on google regarding it:

I'm not saying you may not find a sympathetic NewEgg rep to help you with it if you come across this issue on a new board, but just keep in mind that NewEgg HAS screwed over MANY many customers over the years with this practice.

That's why I always advise on taking pictures right when you get your new MB. Saves everyone a hassel but than again, even if it came bent, I guess they'd still blame ya. Sure there are instances that they came bent but there are probably majority of the time where the user bends them by accident. Not implying that you did at all but just saying in general.

In my experiences, Newegg has treated me well. I will say that they do send some sketchy stuff sometimes as in buying new and feeling you got a refurbished or used product from them. They gladly took care of any issue I've ever had with them. I buy 90%+ of my components from them and still do no problem.

I really haven't had much issue with NewEgg as a whole aside from the motherboard issues really, but when a company like Amazon is more than willing to replace a board that comes to me with bent pins, with NO hassle and BS and possible forcing of buying a new board, it's nice to have that piece of mind on top of their already amazing CS.

It's really just taken away that trust, that's the biggest thing to me. The more and more I read about users getting RMA refusals because of bent pins.... I don't doubt that there is that one person jamming a cpu into a socket, or the probable couple incidents of the cpu not being fully seated then the latch being forced down, but if I had to guess I'd say more are already bent than the number of users doing that. Similar to ASUS (bought this MVF for $140 though.... lol), if I ever had to RMA an ASUS mobo, I plan to climb Kilimanjaro... As I think my chances of everything going smooth is going to be easier with the mountain.

Wow. This thread got seriously highjacked by the NewEgg haters. LOL. ...and what's with the PCB comparisons to socks and underwear? It's only 6:30 and I'm SMH already.

How good is the Asrock Ext 9??????
I know it says that it has a 12+2 VRM but is that really a 6 phase x2 ???????

I like it alot. It's a true 12+2. Some people feel the LLC is backwards, but otherwise it's a very stout board. I wish it had multiple bios profiles like ASUS but what can you do.

No more than I do on the Sabertooth.
Both were 'samples'. Both smoked the VRM sections.
2 sh*tty ones?

Got hijacked by ASRock lovers too, so I too, shall SMH.

To get back on track I think we need some more ASUS-related hate. Anyone else with a recent ASUS catastrophe?

Early samples or something?

Haven't had an ASUS problem (or any motherboard problem) since I stopped buying ASUS boards :p
Solved that problem the easy way, sold all of them and never bought more.

Let's see how the P8Z77 PRO I now own fairs eh?
My old Gigabyte will serve as a backup mobo incase of.. well anything :p

I read that I don't get warranty because I'm not the original owner?

I'm not sure if the E-Bay store you bought it "new" from is a certified ASUS distributor. If they are you should be able to request a receipt or copy of the purchase from them. Any reputable company will gladly help you out with this. If they're not a certified store, well, that's a gamble you take when you purchase from E-Bay.

Agreed.

Electronics purchased on E-Bay usually do not have a warranty, as the sellers are mostly not official distributors.
