Im overclocking my 4770k(im a newbie)and i have 1866 gskill sniper ram at 1.5 volts.i dont want to increase my ram speed as im happy with 1866 mhz.But is it compulsary to overclock ram while overclocking cpu??or i can getaway with leaving the ram settings untouched(1866 mhz,1.5 volts,9-10-9-28 latency)
thanks!:)

Nope, just set your ram to its XMP profile and overclock your CPU. It shouldn't change a thing about your memory.

no, you don't have to. it can help a little in 24/7 use but mainly for benching.
I run an amd fx8350 well above 5.0, 1333 1600, 1866, could not tell which one in day to day use.

Using faster memory is one of the least cost effective things you can do.

Really expensive and unreliable DDR3-3000 is 0-10% faster(probably averages 3%) compared to "cheap"(fing price fixing) and common DDR3-1600 CL8/7.
