Hi, I'm having some problems with my onboard sound card lately.

Since the last time I reinstalled Win 8, I can't get my soundcard to work.
I tried manually installing an .inf from the realtek's driver folder as well as uninstalling and reinstalling chipset and audio drivers a few times to no avail.

I get this icon in the taskbar, despite the driver showing as installed when running the setup file:

Device manager looks like this:

Any ideas?

Get your audio driver from here, you mention Realtek stuff just making sure you have the Gigabyte one.

Get that cooler replaced first off... Don't want to kill your chip.

IIRC those Xeon coolers aren't bad

Have you tried removing the audio driver from Windows in Safe Mode?

Hopefully it helps, sometimes bits of drivers can get stuck even with a reinstall of the driver.
