BEST R9 290 GPU as far as $/heat management

my main fear is being the research study and getting crap as its first gen (not really as its..-e ) what mobo would u go with and cpu have to have 5930k enough lanes for x16 otherwise no point

We're talking about single digit percentage increase in performance with 2x16 width lanes (I'm assuming you mean SLI or CF, since just about any board you'd buy would have 1x16).

That's way too small of a gain to justify an x79/99 build. Unless you're benching or just have an insanely high amount of disposable income, I don't see the point.

I have the GIGABYTE GV-R929OC-4GD Radeon R9 290 4GB folding 24/7 at 1075GHz. Card temp runs about 75 centigrade.
