based on the advise from this forum, I am dumping my psu and getting a new one.

while I am waiting for delivery , do you think it is safe to plug my £20 psu to the board and 8350 cpu ?

it is 500w but not certified or anything

As we mentioned in one of your other threads, what is important is the wattage/amps on the 12v rail. What does the label say is on the 12v rail? Or can you provide a clear picture and attach it to the forum (not 3rd party).

That said... a ~$34 PSU.. I sure as heck wouldn't chance it.

First off, No.

To expand on that, let's weigh the pros and cons of attempting to use a cheap, crap, PSU on a decently high draw rig (or any rig, really).

Pros:
Doesn't cost much.
You can run right now.

Cons:
May explode due to horrible quality control.
If it explodes, may catch fire, burn house.
If it explodes, may destroy everything plugged into it.
Probably won't actually be able to power the rig, anyway.
May explode due to not having enough power.

You spent $200 on a CPU, $200ish on a SSD, some hundredish on a GPU, and you're going to trust this to a PSU that may or may not be high enough quality to function as a paperweight?

That's like buying a Ferrari and running it on gas and oil you bought from a pikey with a bunch of buckets.

Don't do it.

cool, did power it on last night and was ok but will refrain from doing so .

Can't wait for the psu to come .
