Couple of days ago was premiere of the new Kingston HyperX Savage memory series. I've received one of these kits in the highest version - 2400 CL11.
Savage series will replace already well known Genesis. HyperX Genesis was on the market for couple of years and it's time to refresh it. Kingston made it in a great style designing new and quite unique heatsinks.

Memory is not much higher than the standard DDR3 size so can say it's low profile and should fit under any larger cooler.

8GB kit contains two single sided 4GB modules. In the package we can also find warranty info ... and not much more as we don't really need anything else to install memory ;)

HyperX Savage 2400 C11 has two XMP profiles:
XMP1 - 2400 11-13-14-32 1.65V
XMP2 - 2133 11-13-13-30 1.60V
1st profile is quite unusual as we rarely see tRP higher than tRCD.

Used IC is Hynix from BFR series. I haven't seen these for a while.

As you see above, memory is overclocking pretty good. Without raising voltage it's possible to run it stable at 2800. At standard XMP1 settings it's running without issues at 2600.
I had less luck with higher voltages. Memory clock is not really scalling with higher voltages but will try to work some more on that and if I make any good result then will of course post it in this thread.

As always feel free to comment or ask questions. Also please add your overclocking results on HyperX Savage if you decide to buy this memory.

Boy that didn't take you long Woomack. Doesn't appear to be the best out there but still nothing to sneeze at. I see CPU-z wasn't getting the same SPD that you were. Did that come from BIOS or the package?
 
CPU-Z is often wrong as it's reading profiles in older standard. Also CPU voltage in CPU-Z is much higher on this motherboard, should be ~1.285V.
In general HyperX Savage is quite fast for a single sided kit. It's also overclocking good at reasonable voltages.
 
I didn't check this memory at 1866 and both CPU and motherboard are in RMA so I can't check it right now.
I think you can expect something like 9-10-9, 9-11-10 or 9-10-10 but I'm not sure.
 
Alright man thanks anyway... what would you recommend me this kit or get a Corsair Vengeance Pro series kit?, the reason i ask is because I can but a single stick of this one and grab another later (totaling 8GB)... the Corsair Vengeance Pro only sells as kits and I might have to wait a month to buy the (2x4GB) kit. Corsair one is obviously is slightly better than this one for overclocking but since I will be only gaming on it, what your opinion man? should I buy the Corsair kit or this one.
 
All depends from speed you want but in this case both kits will offer similar performance. Kingston will be probably cheaper and will probably offer higher overclocking potential. At least 2133 Corsair kits were based on Micron IC and were almost not overclocking. I haven't heard any better news about Corsair 2400 CL11 kits.
I also recommend you to buy 2x4GB kit. There is never a guarantee that 2 single sticks will have the same memory chips inside. Kingston will be still on Hynix but hard to say if the same series.

any idea whats the ic on it...sadly i haven't learned the art of opening up heat spreaders yet.
same timings as the 8GB kits...only thing is its double sided.
 
There is a photo in the first post - Hynix BFR. I'm usually checking what is under the heatinks so you won't have to ... and I'm always curious :)
 
If in my kit was BFR then it should be in others too but it's not guaranteed. I would say that you can count on BFR, CFR or MFR and all of them are overclocking in similar way. MFR usually go higher but are more often used in 2666+ kits.

Kingston is using mainly Micron and Hynix IC. Microns are almost only in lower clocked kits like 1600 while Hynix in 1866+.

Genesis LoVo / NaVi SE / Blu 1600 = Micron
Fury/Predator 1866 = MFR
Savage 2400 = BFR but these are new series
Beast 2133/2400 = MFR
Predator 2400/2666/2800 MFR

Some newer kits from 2133-2400 series can be also on new CFR. The same as new BFR or MFR all 4GB modules are single sided while 8GB are double sided.

Not really but I'm not sure why you need to do it. I'm checking it mainly for reviews but it's not important what numbers you have on the memory but how it's working.
Often while removing heatsinks you can damage thermal tape so new one is additional cost.

I've followed your settings for 2400DDR. I have 2 x 8Gb Hyper X Savage 2400 @ 10-12-13-30-313-1t. I tried 2600Mhz with the XMP profile set but got beeps, maybe there is a difference in overclocking between 2 x 4 and 2 x 8 Gb. I've done some h264 with openCL encoding and no instabilities found. In intel extreme tuning utility I had 1030 marks with default xmp 1 profile + 1t or 1n. I will probably get a couple more points now.

Actually encoding I hears is one of the situations where these timings will come in handy. I bought the kit for £95 now they are £63 (for Fury not Savage).
 
I have the same kit as you and was able to just set XMP Profile 1 and then just change DRAM Freq from Auto to 2600.

What about manually changing everything and making sure it is set to 1.65v?

In 2x4GB kit are single rank/single sided modules which are usually overclocking better but perform slightly worse. 2x8GB is based on dual rank/double sided modules and won't overclock so high. You will also need slightly different settings like higher tRFC and maybe some sub timings.
2400 CL10 looks good. I think that for 2600-2666 it will need CL11-13-14 or maybe CL12 so probably 2400 CL10 will be faster.
