Samsung 830 EVO - need some guidance

I've got a 120 GB samsung 830 EVO. I installed it and did nothing further, because the speeds coming from a caviar black where enough for me to be satisfied. I'm looking now to try to get the most out of the drive. Does this drive have software like magician for it? I downloaded the latest version of magician for the 840 series and it didn't recognize the drive as being samsung, much less that it was going to actually do anything. (I thought it originally was an 840 as I received the drive for free) Also any other advice on how to get optimal performance out of the drive aside from manufacturer software would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of there being an 830 evo, I thought it was either 830/830Pro then 840 was the first generation with the Evo?

Yes they made magician for the 830 series. Just make sure it's running in AHCI mode so TRIM is enabled and you should be good, though.
