MSI GT 70 dominator Ram (2x4 or 1x 8) (expanding) plus ddr3 vs ddr3l clarify

Hey guys so I have the MSI GT 70 dominator:

this has a single RAM stick pre-installed
timings are 11-11-11-28.

I was thinking of going in with a :

Gskil with similar timing

Now I do have two questions

I searched DDR3L on new egg and options are limited. Am I ok with any ddr3 as long as they are 1.35v?

Also last question
I know dual channel ram is better than single yet does it make a differnec eif my currently installed ram is single? I really dont think so but just to make sure.

If the lappy has 2 memory slots, I don't see why you can't go with 2x4gb sticks over the single 8gb stick.

Also yes: You are limited to only DDR3 @ 1.35v .

well 1x8 is cheaper and also gives me room for an extra 8gb in the future (even know i really dont think i will need 24 gb ram) .

to be honest I am even considering a single 4GB stick.

You can go with 2x8gb sticks of you prefer.

but will I see the difference from the dual channel if the RAM slots that are bellow the Keyboard has a single (in other words it will be 2x8 in dual + 1 x 8 single

Again if there are 2 ram slots, then it's better to go dual channel over single.

There are 4 total. 1 of the other two had single that doesnt matter then?
