Hi.

I have an amd athlon ii x4 635 and a radeon hd 6850 gpu.

I have 150 quid go upgrade for now but not sure what would be best, a new gpu or cpu. Which will causee the worst bottleneck?

Thanks

The answer to you question will depend on your use. Is this system used primarily for gaming? What kind of computing tasks do you want to speed up? And if your aim is to improve gaming performance then what games do you play? Some games are more CPU dependent than others.

Usually for gaming but it struggles now. Also I have an ssd :)

Athlon X4's are hurting little chips. Especially the older ones. What is your motherboard chipset and socket? Maybe there's a better CPU you can drop in. Are you using DDR3? You might look at something like a G3258 and an H97 board. Overclocked, the Pentium will smoke your chip in gaming despite only being dual core.
