Slot spacing Q for Rampage V extreme

I've decided I'm getting the RVE. Can I run 2 cards in slots 1 and 3 instead of 1 and 2? Will I still get 16/8 with a 5820K? I don't want to run the cards right next to eachother due to inferior thermals.

Not sure off hand, but I would imagine so. What does the website and manual say the breakdown would be?

RVE has 16+8+16+8 slots and will run as 16+8 in 1/3 slots if you use 5820K. Actually it will run x16 in 1st and x8 in any of the other slots if you use 5820K.
