http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gYpLbv This will be my first build in quite a few years so im wondering what you guys think about this set up. Im trying to not spend much more then this atm but i plan to add another 8GB of memory and go SLI with the 970's sometime later. If you recommend a change please try to explain why. Thank you

You'll want to go 2x4GB or 2x8GB of RAM to take advantage of dual-channel.

Also, consider going with a 250GB+ SSD. 120GB is pretty tight these days if you're gaming.

I would kill the H100i, weal pump, go with the 105 or if room the 110

Think ATM has a Kracking 60 on sale reasonable ,

In a nut shell just say no to the Coolit

I like a 750 if SLI is in the future, if you are going to really pound on it grab an 850

Like the EX6 personally, but the 4 will do the job

Thx for the tip on duel-channel i forgot about that and i will go with the H105 instead of the H100i.

Why do people still buy arctic silver 5?

It's horrible. Not only does it perform poorly, it's a pain in the arse to clean off, takes 200 hours to break in (wth is that??) and it's capacitive. All bad things.

AIO coolers come with thermal paste preapplied in the ideal way.

H105 or a Kraken or better yet an H220X would be better choices.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kyNHnQ I swapped out the PSU, SSD, memory, thermal paste and the cooler per recommendations. What do you guys think of the SeaSonic PSU? I went with the sandisk SSD after hearing of the problems with the 840 EVO. Thx for the help it is much appreciated.

Drop to the 550W Seasonic.

Switch to the 840 EVO, that SanDisk is a hunk of junk. Pretty sure you've got the problems backward there.

I was about to say I've never heard of problems from the 840 I was about to be jumping on Google just to see

I was reading that after some time the drive would slow down and they released a firmware update that essentially just rewrote all data 3+ months old? Whatever, I'd rather have the Samsung anyway so thx for the heads up on the SanDisk and it also made me realize i was ordering the wrong unit that didnt include mounting hardware, cables that i need... Like i said its been awhile :salute:

My 500GB EVO hasn't slowed down in over a year of usage ;)
