I was researching about the new gpus when i came across something on the nivida website about that its recommended to have 4gb of gpu ram for windows 64bit rather than the minimum 2gb.
I currently have windows 7 64bit and my gpu is the gtx 770 2gb. Is this info true or am i reading it wrong. If it is true what are the benefits of having more ram on my gpu than i have currently.
any info is appreciated. Thanks!

It's recommended to have 4GB or more of the system RAM, not of vRAM...

is vRAM only needed for use with something like dual monitors or something like that?

vRAM and System RAM are two completely different requirements.

vRAM is used by the GPU for rendering graphical work, while the system RAM is used by the CPU.
