Hard drives for Lenovo server

Really quick question for you guys:

My boss is under the impression that if he was to buy a Lenovo server, he would have to use their hard drives. I'm pretty sure that any drive should be fine right? I know Lenovo has their own thing attached to the drives for mounting sometimes (for hot swapping I think)...but as far as compatibility it shouldn't matter AFAIK.

I would assume the server takes SAS drives, so you can use any SAS drive, but you would need the hot swap sleds for the server as those are specific.

Your boss is mistaken.
