I would save the money for a more complete upgrade...Its not worth $100 for a better board when $500 will get you a new PC that blows this one out of the water...

That said, look at P45 based motherboards (Giga EP45 UD3P).

+1... Maybe something like a new Pentium G3258 (unlocked multi) and a Z97 motherboard with a kit of DDR3.


This guy's/thread says his board (Gigabyte G41MT-D3) is limited to 343 fsb... Probably a quite similar board to your GA-G41M-ES2L: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3261#ov

Sorry to keep putting thought on a lost clause but just wanted to confirm for other people who might refer to this thread...343 is indeed the FSB wall, I did try and lower CPU clock but to no avail...

Also can someone tell me how to identify a good board, like how can I know that it has a lot of FSB headroom for OC?
