I think every time 7 gets booted up, Trim will run. So unless you're using XP Pro all the time... XD
Just make sure windows 7 formats the drive in the first place, not XP. XP's clueless about alignment.

Thanks for this info. I'll format in Windows 7. Just out of curiosity,
what are the sector sizes in SSD's? 512 byte? Advanced format
(4 KiB I think)? Neither?
 
No offense taken at all. All I was saying is that there's nothing wrong with putting XP on a SSD, and the myth of Sandforce controllers being unreliable is just that....myth.
Carry on gent's, we're all good. :)
 
I just slathered xp on a cheap sandisk and it work like a charm, I even have a cut down, benching xp on one.
