Thinking of getting a new GPU. Not sure if my grandpa can hold it though. Some forums say it will, some say it won't, so I thought that this would be the best place. Thanks.

I would say thats more of a question of what game are we thinking about playing>?

Doubtful, it it does depend on the genre/title. If its a cpu bound rpg, then yes. A fps, not most.

I'm aiming for FPS and 3D games (Assassins Creed, GTA). So I will take your answer as a no to my question.

I would still try for a 4GHz overclock, regardless to get the most out of the chip. IF you were to run into any issues, you can minimize it a bit by ocing.

Gta is a rpg essentially and last I recall is quite cpu bound. So my answer would be yes for that title.
