HELLO,

looking for some advise on a new setup(cooling wise) have used self contained unit with good success, this will be my first custom loop,
i have read the stickies on water cooling, understand most of it. have a few questions,

1 is it worth going with push/pull on the rad fans or just use push, extra money for fans is not a problem
2 will the two rads i have selected be enough, not sure if figured it correctly, extra rads can fit in the case
looking for a quiet setup, used 120.1 per 100 watts(i think i may be short)
3 should i use one loop or two (cpu and cards on seperate loops)
4 if one loop is perfered, one pump or 2 in series

plan on using acrylic tubing
part that are to be water cooled(except case)

case labs magnum sma8 http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-sma8/
ramage v extreme motherboard(may go with a ek mono block if one becomes availble)
no liquid cooling on the ram chips

intel core i7-5960x (rounded up to 200 watts)plan on over clocking would like to hit close to 4 megs
asus strike 980 graphis cards X3 ( about 300 watts per card if i read the specs right)

rads:

any help would be greatfull, thanks

Your setup looks good to cool off a CPU + 3 GPU in a single loop. I like the case you have chosen. Looks good to me and you have more than enough headroom for OCs.

As for the pumps, its up to you if you want redundancy and the extra pumping power. For a setup like that, I'd probably do 2 pumps in a single loop.

Acrylic tubing can be tough to work with and a pain when upgrading parts or doing your annual tear down maintenance but it does look good when executed right.

As for the fans, its up to you if you want to go push and pull but you'll have to make sure you have enough room if you do decide to go p/p on those rads. I would also use 120mm format and not the 140mm since the 120mm have the best rad fans in the market but you could still go with 140mm rads but not sure how good their fans are.

A great place to see reviews and tests for water cooling is Martinsliquidlab.

thanks for the reply, Noctua http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2...an_-_1500_RPM_NFP14SR15P.html?tl=g36c365s1507 and noise blocker silent http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._-_400-1500_RPM_-_29_dBA.html?tl=g36c365s1507 are my two choices, both I believe are available in 120 and 140.

will read the link tonight,

your are correct about the acrylic, but it looks sweet , it's been an itch I can't scratch

just really to decide on push/pull or push, the case need to ordered with a slightly taller top to fit the extra fans,
is there any gains form push pull? will need to research it out some more.

thanks

To me the closest thing to the AP-15s which were the industries best but since retiring the Noiseblocker eLoops B12 have taken the reigns.

Edit: Correction, the AP-15s are now known as the AP-53s and are still being manufactured.

thought about them also, will look at them . I do not think they offered them in 140,witch is why I did not consider them,
like u mentioned above I can change the on rad to 120 platform, best part of building , one can change it.

I havn't seen much on Phobya as rad selection but I will say the most common rads are the Black Ice, XSPC, Swiftech and the nortorious Alphacool rads to name a few. Me thinks you might like Alphacool's Monsta line (80mm Thick lol). If you did go that route, I'd for surely go p/p with those eLoop B12s.

Anything is changeable if you were patient enough not to purchase anything yet. :p

I have tons a patients, I figure this build will take me about 8 months or longer to due, I current rig run fine, just getting a bit outdate, will look at the other rad brands,
thanks for all your input.

the only thing I have is the motherboard and processor, just been working on the case for the last week,
